Driftwood center pieces for a special wedding

Driftwood center pieces for a special wedding

In my recent post about the rental of driftwood center pieces, I mentioned that I had been preparing a large number of unique pieces for the wedding of the sister of Alexis (my daughter in law & the designer of my new website). Lauren & Marshall got married at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club on Amelia Island which is just north of Jacksonville. Lauren, of course, was familiar with my furniture but wanted to use the concept of individual driftwood centerpieces for their wedding.  I spent the summer gathering pieces of different shapes & sizes, had them sandblasted & then exposed to the sun until they were all a uniform silver gray. We loaded them up in the back of my van & when we arrived in Amelia Island, Terri, the wedding coordinator selected the pieces to be used (I think I brought enough for 2 weddings). We first used a few of the pieces for the rehearsal dinner.DSC00107

But the entirety of the driftwood was placed on the tables & a few other places at the wedding reception at the beautiful Oyster Bay Yacht Club.DSC_8804

The next morning, we even brought a few to be used at the farewell brunch.DSC00084

Nikki & I were pleased to be invited to attend & be a very small part of making this a very memorable occasion. DSC00076

    • It’s not something I really plan to promote & only for local customers (no shipping), but it provides brides & event planners with interesting display pieces. They won’t have to buy wood that they’ll only use once & it allows me to always have some on hand.
